Daily Routine

Playing, learning, and fresh air
At the Daycare Lake Side Kids children will have a rhythmical daily cycle that provides stability as well as room to learn, play, do handicrafts (Paint, draw, glue, form…) sing and experiment as well as find time for peace and quiet (quiet-time or a nap). Our trained staff takes the initiative and ideas of the children into account and provide the child time and space to develop his or her ideas further. Fresh air and the outside environment is an important aspect of our daily-daycare-lives…Rain, snow or sunshine do not stop us from going outside…”we do not know what bad weather is, but we do know what suitable clothes are!” Using all their sensees children can explore their world…both inside (where our play equipment and materials are child friendly and where possible made of environmentally friendly materials) and outside (where nature provides a stunning array of possibilities). We focus on recycling and sustainability.

Portfolio

Our precious souvenir
Upon admittance to our daycare, each child is given their own personal folder. Within this folder are developmental (language, motor skills, cognitive etc), play, social and personal strides that the child accomplishes. These are documented using photos and pictures or in words. This folder is then given to the child and parents or guardians when their “daycare journey” is over…this is treasured memory and souvenir for the family, showing not only the leaps a child makes but also how he or she grows and changes over the years.
For our qualified staff the Portfolio folder is a highly significant document. This folder contains the personal development of a child as well as the many ways in which a child learns. Depending on the personal steps and leaps a child has made in a certain developmental, social or personal area it is possible for a qualified carer to plan and execute a support program based on the child records held in the folder. This folder is also a useful means for discussions between parents and our team. As each child has his or her own personal folder, the child and their parent or guardian are more than welcome to view this document on any given day within the daycare premises.
